SEATTLE — The FBI says it has a "credible" lead in the D.B. Cooper case, which involved the 1971 hijacking of a passenger jet over Washington state and the suspect's legendary parachute escape.
FBI spokeswoman Ayn Sandalo Dietrich tells The Seattle Times that a law enforcement member directed investigators to a person who might have helpful information on the suspect.

Back in 1888, when Berta Benz made the pioneering long distance trip with her husband's car, no one could imagine traffic jams or even "Carmageddons". 125 years after its invention, we know about the negative impact of the automobile. Despite this, for most people the car hasn't lost its fascination.
On the 125th anniversary of the car, several art museums are dedicating exhibitions to the automobile. One of them is the Museum Tinguely in Basel, Switzerland which currently presents the exhibition Car Fetish - I drive, therefore I am. The show features more than 160 artworks by more than 80 artists such as Giacomo Balla, Andy Warhol, Gerhard Richter, Arman, Roman Signer, Mel Ramos, Andrea Zittel - and Los Angeles-based artist Andrew Bush.

There's a fine line between great advertising and arts patronage. When a brand wants to remain in customers' minds, one of the most effective ways to do so can be to give artists a platform to create memorable images. As Absolut Vodka's new initiative, Absolut Blank, seems to show, the results of such corporate commissions can be far from sterile.
The trailer for the project, shown below, gives a quick look at the artists creating the pieces in various media based around a blank template of an Absolut bottle. UK-based illustrator David Bray turns the template into a mysterious woman and her beehive hairdo, while Brazilian illustrator Fernado Chamarelli's bottle becomes a colorful arrangement of totemic animals.
See some more designs here, and read the full list of artists working with Absolut Blank below the video.

NEW YORK -- Six months after New York City news junkies flocked to Al Jazeera Englishâs website for up-to-the-second coverage of the Egyptian uprising, theyâll now have a chance to watch the 24-hour news network on its original platform: television.
At midnight, Al Jazeera English launched in New York City on Time Warner Cable, a major step in the networkâs goal of expanding further into the U.S. cable market and a chance to reach two million households in a world capital of culture and commerce. The network will also launch on Verizon FiOS in the coming days.
Al Anstey, managing director of Al Jazeera English, told The Huffington Post that AJE's website receives more online traffic from New York City than from any other city around the globe â- evidence of high demand in the Big Apple. Now that the network will be reaching cable viewers, too, Anstey hopes to make further inroads into the media capital.

So much of the news and information directed at women these days seems determined to make us feel that our lives are somehow lacking. We are constantly made to feel that we should be prettier, thinner, sexier, more successful, better moms, better wives, better lovers, etc. Though often wrapped in a you-go-girl! message, the subtext is clear: we should feel bad because we have tummies, not abs; bad because we don't always feel like sex kittens, or bad because we do; bad because we don't have a color-coded filing system for our recipes. Not at HuffPost Women, which launches today. It is designed to be a place where women can come to be informed, inspired, entertained, and celebrated. Check it out here. I also want to announce a cool milestone: This weekend, HuffPost received our 100,000,000th comment! That's a staggering number, and we are really grateful to you, our community, for such amazing engagement and participation. Read More... More on Women's Empowerment

CHICAGO — After a deal with Oakland for Rich Harden fell through, the AL East-leading Boston Red Sox were still able to find a starting pitcher to bolster their rotation Sunday.
They got oft-injured lefty Erik Bedard from the Seattle Mariners in a three-team trade before the deadline. Bedard's stint with the Mariners has been problematic but his years in Baltimore were strong ones. And that's the pitcher the Red Sox hope they will eventually see.

Heidi Klum started a challenge this summer to run -- outside!-- all over New York City. Last week she hosted one of her early-AM jaunts in Central Park for Team AOL!
